Cancers have a high frequency of somatic alterations on chromatin regulators and growth factor signaling pathways. Cells transmit extracellular information from the membrane to the nucleus which involves using cell-surface receptors and signaling pathways.
By utilizing growth factor signaling pathways, gene expression can be controlled via the extracellular environment, but the involvement of chromatin regulators is largely unknown.
My work will focus to uncover the contribution of mixed lineage leukemias (MLLs) histone methyltransferase complex in cancer cell signaling regulation.
